General I just completed the fift painting in my new cityscape series.  The cities/places I have covered so far are Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Amsterdam and Akureyri.  I continue exploring different ways of approaching the depiction of a place in a painting.  Memories/impressions and feelings are complemented by photographs.  At times I feel pulled towards abstraction and at others towards a primitive and raw expression where I strip everything away except the essence of the place.  I am grealty enjoying this new series and aim to complete several more pieces in the coming months.  tag:blogs.artspan.com,2011-06-23:16921 2011-06-23T21:58:50-04:00
